The Opportunity
The PMI Evolve Project supports the U.S. President’s Malaria Initiative (PMI) and USAID to plan and implement an integrated vector control strategy with the overall goal of reducing the burden of malaria while promoting equity to sustain malaria gains. Abt has implemented integrated vector control for PMI since 2011, delivering high-quality indoor residual spraying (IRS), technical assistance for insecticide-treated net (ITN) distribution and durability monitoring, and new approaches for larval source management (LSM). Additionally, Abt’s PMI-funded work manages the most comprehensive malaria vector entomological surveillance programs in 21 African countries to inform malaria vector control trends, strategies, and impact. Under the PMI Evolve Project, Abt will further its delivery of integrated vector control programs by partnering with local communities, organizations, and governments to co-design and co-implement tailored malaria vector control programs. The end goal is fighting malaria while strengthening local capacity to sustain malaria gains.
Abt Associates is seeking a Project Management Analyst to support the PMI Evolve project within the International Development Division (IDD) on project implementation. You will provide project administrative assistance and support the operational and technical aspects of up to 6 country programs serving as the liaison between support teams, technical teams, departments and line management. You will work under the supervision of a Senior Program Manager supporting entry level technical support activities.
Core Responsibilities
- Facilitate and/or coordinate activities of projects, including start up, day-to-day activities of the project including regular client and internal team meetings/communications, and close out.
- Analyze project financial performance with support from Project Financial Analyst.
- Support development, review and tracking of client and internal reports and deliverables for accuracy and approval.
- Participate in Field/HQ calls, quarterly contract reviews and division/corporate meetings.
- Support completion of annual workplans and other deliverables.
- Provide operational support and assistance, in domains such as human resources, procurement or other operations-related areas.
- Provide domestic and international conference planning support, including arranging meals, hotel and transportation for participants, conference set-up, and participant tracking.
- Support client concurrence requests for travel and consultants.
- Review and gather approvals for site office expenses.
- Assists with risk monitoring, management and reporting.
- May travel to provide technical support to project teams as required, depending on international travel restrictions.
What We Value

- Excellent writing, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and great follow-up.
- Experience in international development or with USAID.
- Possess knowledge of basic marketing/sales/business development principles.
- Capable of working on multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
- Experience with Microsoft office applications.
- Ability and willingness to travel to project locations overseas.
- Preference for 1-2 years of work experience.
- French language skills are preferred but not required.

This position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of approximately $49,000 to $68,000 and may vary by ten percent depending on candidate geographic location. Salary offers are made based on internal equity and market analysis.
