Project Management Coordinator

The Promises of Parenting Program Facilitator is an exciting opportunity to promote healthy maternal attachment while interacting with the mothers and children residing on the Officer Breann Leath Memorial Maternal-Child Health Unit (Leath Unit) at the Indiana Women’s Prison. The Program Facilitator will utilize the Circle of Security early relational health model to facilitate weekly mother/infant and prenatal parenting classes in the Leath Unit. The Program Facilitator will also work closely with the Grassroots Maternal and Child Health Initiative (Grassroots MCH) Early Childhood Intervention Project Manager to plan activities and implement program curriculum.

Job Summary

Department-Specific Responsibilities

  • Facilitates 2 Circle of Security mother/infant classes per week and 1 Circle of Security prenatal class per week on-site in the Leath Unit.
  • Completes Circle of Security Facilitator training upon date of hire.
  • Works with Grassroots MCH to plan and implement Circle of Security class curriculum.
  • Prepares and distributes all necessary class materials as needed.
  • Completes electronic facilitator survey after the completion of each weekly parenting class.
  • Attends virtual bi-weekly Promises of Parenting Program team meetings.
  • Communicates regularly with Grassroots MCH and IDOC staff.

General Responsibilities

  • Coordinates support for project management activities, resource allocation, and communication.
  • Develops a schedule designed to meet necessary deadlines and communicates with team members.
  • Monitors project progress and handles moderately complex issues that arise.
  • Ensures projects adhere to frameworks and all documentation is maintained appropriately for each project.
  • Collaborates with cross functional teams with varying levels of seniority and experience to support various programs.
  • Performs a variety of administrative skills and prepares correspondence related to the project.
  • Maintains a detailed, organized file and records system.

EDUCATION

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED).

WORK EXPERIENCE

Required

  • 2 years of relevant experience.

Working Conditions / Demands

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

Job Competencies

Reliability

  • Due to planned activities and required daily count times in the LeatUnit, parenting classes must occur on time and on planned class dates unless extenuating circumstances occur. Oftentimes lengthy delays or alternative class days cannot be accommodated in the Leath Unit.

Professionalism

  • Interaction with the women, children and staff in the Leath Unit should be respectful, culturally competent, and within professional boundaries.

Organization

  • Class details must be tracked, recorded, and submitted on time.

Work Location

Indianapolis, Indiana

This position is eligible to work a hybrid schedule (mix between remote and in-person work), subject to change in the future based on university policy and business needs.

Advertised Salary

$40,000 – $45,000 per year based on experience, skill level, education, and training.
