Project Management Coordinator, Pediatrics Adolescent Medicine

The Department of Pediatrics¿ Adolescent Medicine Program addresses the unique developmental needs for young people between the ages of 11 and 21. This team of pediatrics specialists provides more than 40,000 adolescent clinical visits per year, is one of the preeminent academic training programs in the United States and brings in more than $3 million dollars per year in extramural research support.

The Division of Adolescent Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics at IU School of Medicine was created in 1983 with the recruitment and arrival of Donald P. Orr, MD. Recruited by Dr. Morris Green, Dr. Orr’s goal was to establish a premier academic adolescent health program grounded in clinical services, training and clinical research. The Adolescent Health Program provides a range of health-related services for this stage of a young person’s development.

Job Summary

The Division of Pediatrics Adolescent Medicine is seeking a Project Management Coordinator. This position will be the primary administrative support for the LEAH grant and responsible for all of the department Quality Improvement (QI). (This includes Fellowship required QI, LEAH grant required QI, any additional provider QI work). Also responsible for any additional ad hoc projects.

General Responsibilities

  • Provides experienced assistance with project management activities, resource allocation, and communication.
  • Develops a schedule designed to meet necessary deadlines and communicates with team members.
  • Monitors project progress and handles highly complex issues that arise.
  • Ensures projects adhere to frameworks and all documentation is maintained appropriately for each project.
  • Allocates tasks and assignments to lower-level appointed staff and monitors their performance.
  • Performs a variety of administrative skills and prepares correspondence related to the project.

EDUCATION

  • High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED)

Working Conditions / Demands

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

Additional Information

The salary range for this position is from $45,000 to $50,000 annually.

Indianapolis, Indiana

This position is eligible to work a hybrid schedule (mix between remote and in-person work), subject to change in the future based on university policy and business needs.
