Project Management I

The Project Management I will direct and manage the overall maintenance of the mechanical distribution piping systems on campus. Distribution systems including steam, condensate, chilled water and domestic water This position is located in, Washington, DC and reports directly to the Director of Energy Delivery.

What you’ll do:

  • Direct liaison with ENGIE’s Capital Projects (CAPEX) team to plan and execute campus projects
  • Direct liaison with the O&M Department to plan and schedule outage activities on the campus distribution systems
  • Coordinates and submits for approval, distribution system projects Utility System Outage Requests with ENGIE Operations and university staff where necessary
  • Responsible as a Person in Charge (PiC) under ENGIE Georgetown O&M Department Lock-Out Tag Out procedure for preparation and implementation of all LOTO Plans on campus distribution systems
  • Directs assigned maintenance personnel in the implementation of operations and maintenance activities including maintenance, repair and upgrade of campus utility systems involving steam, condensate, chilled water and domestic water distribution
  • Develops and improves preventive and predictive maintenance programs
  • Manages spare part inventories and record systems
  • Manages maintenance service contracts
  • Manages the Maximo CMMS maintenance work order, equipment history and record keeping system
  • Provides analysis of equipment inspections and failures, developing repair and replacement plans for distribution systems
  • Reviews plans and specifications, ensures constructability and maintainability of new equipment, provides oversight and coordination of construction outages, inspects construction for utility system projects and new building utility infrastructure to ensure compliance with design standards
  • Ensures adherence to safety and environmental policies and procedures, OSHA, and EPA regulations, and design standards
  • Provides recommendations and input to department budget process and spending plans. Prepares, reviews and controls budget and spending for areas of responsibility
  • Provides input to capital plans for the utility distribution system. Supports system planning and recommends future steam, condensate, chilled water, natural gas and heating hot water improvements and repairs
  • Coordinates planned and unplanned utility outage work with O&M, CAPEX and the customer
  • Responsible for maintaining compliance with regulatory bodies (EPA, DOEE, DCRA, OSHA, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned

What you bring:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. Degree in engineering or related subject preferred
  • 10 years of experience in utility system operation and maintenance
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Georgetown University campus Distribution systems
  • Must have right to work in the U.S.
  • Valid Driver’s License required
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and Microsoft Office

  • Salary Range: $61,455 – $156,650 USD annually
  • Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors
  • In addition to salary, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan
