Job Summary
We are seeking a highly driven project manager to join our Rail Division team in the Eastern region of the US! As a Project Manager 2 at GSI, you’ll play an integral role in the entirety of the construction management process including safety, quality, production, and project budget oversight. The position works closely with construction engineering, frontline crews, and regional service delivery team to successfully support the GSI businesses through executing projects safely, on time, on budget, and in accordance with contract requirements.
This position is Remote-based in the Eastern region of the US and up to 50% travel will be required.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions
- Manage construction projects from beginning to end, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and quality control.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that all project requirements are met.
- Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to senior management and clients.
- Develop and implement project schedules, ensuring that all deadlines are met.
- Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations and industry standards.
- Manage project budgets, tracking expenses and ensuring that all costs are kept within budget.
- Identify and manage project risks, developing contingency plans where necessary.
- Manage project teams, ensuring that all team members are aware of their responsibilities and are working effectively.
- Oversee procurement and material management processes, ensuring that all materials are delivered on time and are of the required quality.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, stakeholders, and subcontractors.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Geology or Construction Management or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 4 years of related field or project management experience.
- Prior experience in the Rail industry or managing grouting projects preferred.
- PMP Certification is preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Possess a solid understanding of construction processes, techniques, and technologies and familiarity of construction materials, equipment, and tools.
- Proven experience developing project plans, creating schedules, and tracking progress against those plans and ability to identify and manage project risks and make necessary adjustments to keep the project on track.
- Ability to motivate and lead the project team, provide clear direction and communicate expectations effectively.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and suppliers.
- Ability to develop and manage project budgets, track costs, and negotiate with suppliers and vendors.
- Skilled in ensuring that work meets quality standards, and that defects are identified and addressed quickly.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and ability to ensure that the project team is adhering to them. Ability to manage safety risks and take corrective action when necessary.
- Proven ability to identify and solve problems quickly, and be able to think creatively to come up with solutions to unexpected issues.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to ensure that the project stays on schedule.
- Skilled in building and maintaining relationships with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that the project is successful.
Work Location:
- Remote in the Eastern Region of the US.
- Travel to construction sites, up to 50% of the time, will also be required.
Base salary*: $80,000 to $100,000
*This base salary range is used nationally. The rate offered is compliant with federal/local regulations and may vary by experience, certification/education, skillset, market conditions, location, etc.
