Lind Marine is proud to provide dredging, barge, and tug services throughout the San Francisco Bay and Delta, and the Sacramento and San Joaquin Rivers. We specialize in handling and moving bulk materials for the construction and agricultural industries, dredging projects of any size, and marine environmental remediation. Starting with a single barge and tugboat in 1906, we have grown to become a full-service dredging, barge, and tug company, with more than 25 barges and 6 tugboats.
The Project Manager/Estimator plans, organizes, and coordinates the schedule, timeline, procurement, staffing, and budget of Lind Marine products and services on a per-project basis. Operations include shipyard services, dredging, marine salvage, and construction. This position reports to the VP of Operations Planning and ESG Programs and is responsible for ensuring a high level of client satisfaction, maximizing efficiencies and revenue, and accurately capturing project costs and revenues.
- Communicate with key stakeholders to determine project purpose, objectives, and requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret requirement documents (blueprints, project plans, line drawings, etc.) to gain a thorough understanding of project requirements.
- Develop comprehensive plans including scope, costs, deliverables, timelines, quality, and client communications.
- Prepare material, labor, and cost estimates for various projects.
- Source materials and contractors necessary for various projects.
- Manage stakeholder expectations regarding unavoidable delays and/or cost overruns.
- Delegate work and ensure that tasks are completed as scheduled.
- Monitor and update the progress of projects including quality control, budgets, resource allocation, and milestones using project management software.
- Regularly inform stakeholders of the project process.
- Meet with the project team to resolve issues effectively and timely to keep the project on track.
- Oversee project changes and adjust schedules, budgets, and targets in response to changes.
- Deliver projects on time and on budget.
- Obtain customer acceptance of project deliverables.
- Debrief projects at their conclusion to identify key lessons to improve performance.
- Monitor expenses and payments, and develop client invoices and progress invoices.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations where applicable.
- Provide regular feedback to company management on the status of projects.
- Develop and maintain excellent working relationships.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- 5+ years’ proven experience as a project manager and/or estimator in the shipyard, commercial marine, or related industry
- Bachelor’s degree in project management, business, management, or equivalent professional-level experience
- Project Management Professional (PMP) is a plus
- Shipyard or Marine Construction Trade Experience is a plus
- Proficiency with HYPACK / DREDGEPACK survey software and AutoCAD a plus.
- Must have excellent computer skills and display proficiency in MS Suite (Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint) and scheduling and/or project management software.
