We invite applications from candidates with the following experience:
- BS in Civil Engineering is required. Master’s Degree or PhD is a plus.
- Engineer-in-Training required. A Professional Engineer License is preferred.
- An ideal candidate will have at least 4-6 years of experience in geotechnical, hydrology, or civil engineering related to the tasks described above.
- Ability to work well within a project team is required.
- Direct experience working on projects that involve Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) would be a plus.
- Desired computer skills: AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Microsoft Office Suite, GeoStudio (SEEP/W and SLOPE/W), HEC software.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Enthusiastic, dependable, self-starter, who is organized and able to work effectively with minimal supervision.

Salary Range: $106,000 – $125,000

Job Description
Mott MacDonald is a leading provider of underground and hydropower services with a growing portfolio of pumped storage hydropower projects worldwide. Hydropower has been a key part of our business for decades and we are playing an increasing role in the buildout of the energy revolution focusing on our strengths in underground works to deliver grid level storage projects. We have a strong global professional practice network made up of engineers and specialists experienced in tunnels and cavern design, hydromechanical engineering, dams and large civil structures design, hydraulic design and analysis, and electrical engineering including substation and transmission design.
Mott MacDonald is actively growing its hydropower presence in North America. We are currently.
seeking a project manager to support projects across North America and globally where needed. This position will be based in our Seattle office supporting projects in North America and International Projects and reporting to Mark Ramsey.
You will be tasked with supporting opportunities and project execution of Hydro and Pumped Storage related projects in our water and energy sectors. The position offers great potential for professional growth and the opportunity to collaborate with our underground, water resources, geotechnical, energy and structural professionals on hydropower projects.
The successful candidate will be expected to carry out project management tasks while being involved in the technical delivery of the projects where needed. The position will provide opportunities to learn from Mott MacDonalds senior hydropower team and develop skills that will support the growth of the work in North America.
While focused on Hydro and Pumped Storage Projects, there will be opportunities to gain experience on other water or underground related work depending on work available.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Support development of proposals and pursuit of new projects.
- Provide project management and coordination to support the delivery of projects, working with the teams to ensure deliverables are executed with technical accuracy, on time and within budget.
- Perform engineering by analyzing data, performing design calculations in accordance with regulatory requirements and guidelines and evaluating options to develop the best solution.
- Support the development of planning and design documents, cost estimates, calculations, project drawings, and technical specifications in coordination with project managers, project engineers, CAD staff and other engineering disciplines.
- Conform to client and company standards for document and drawing preparation.
