Project Manager II (local to DFW)

As a remote first company, this role is primarily remote with occasional visits to the Plano, TX office for team collaboration.

Position Overview:

Alkami is currently experiencing explosive growth and maturation within the Technology division and as a result, the newly established Technology PMO is playing a key role in transforming Alkami’s technology stack through the delivery of strategic projects.

This role is a key member of the PMO team that will document, monitor, organize, coordinate, and drive a PMO portfolio of technology initiatives within Alkami’s fast paced environment. Alkami is looking for a Project Manager II with agile experience and solutions oriented mindset to help transform the organization through delivery of key projects. This exciting opportunity will gain exposure to the following project areas: Cloud Native Infrastructure(AWS), Enterprise Applications & Tooling, Mobile Device Management(MDM), Networking, CI/CD transformation, and more!

Success in this role will center around a strong project management foundational skill set, an appetite for problem solving, and a passion for seeing projects to completion. Additionally, this role will be highly collaborative with an analytical approach to monitoring the scope, schedule, and resources captured for relevant projects.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Lead technology PMO initiatives varying in complexity from inception to completion
  • Compile project documents and establish comprehensive project plans for delivery
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and communication flow as they relate to project deliverables, scope and the project team
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to translate requirements into actions
  • Ensure project sponsor engagement through key reporting and project value demonstration
  • Calculate, track, and manage project budgeting through the project lifecycle
  • Manage project value delivery and report on project performance trends based on KPIs
  • Lead meetings diverse in scope, drive decision making, and maintain project alignment
  • Protect project scope through stewarding initiatives through proper change management
  • Contribute to continuous process improvement for PMO practices & policies
  • Support the technical integration of Alkami acquisitions
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Project Management, IT, Computer Science) or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of project management experience, preferably in a technology-driven environment
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and the ability to balance competing priorities.
  • Working knowledge of project management tools (e.g., Smartsheets, Jira, etc)
  • Ability to leverage project management competencies to achieve desired outcomes and create process efficiencies
  • Knowledge of project management metrics and their use in project management delivery
  • Experience building schedules, gathering requirements, and maintaining project plans
  • Experience delivering clear, written and verbal communications to diverse stakeholder groups
  • Ability to create focused ideas and practices within an ambiguous, evolving work structure
  • Experience designing and implementing technical policy or procedural documents
  • Ability to analyze patterns of information and generate valuable insights
  • Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills

Desired Skills:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Strong understanding and experience with Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of IT environments, cloud infrastructure, and/or enterprise tooling
  • General knowledge of networking concepts such as firewalls and routing protocols
  • Adaptable working mindset which demonstrates flexibility with ambiguity and change
