Project Manager (Linear Asset / Buried Infrastructure)

You will work on a variety of projects that may include planning, evaluation, design, and construction related activities for wastewater, water and stormwater conveyance systems. The Linear Asset/Buried Infrastructure Senior Project Manager will coordinate national subject matter experts and local engineering teams delivering technical solutions for the rehabilitation of existing and design of new major infrastructure facilities for major municipal clients.

Detailed Description:

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage and execute engineering work in various engineering aspects (wastewater, water, infrastructure, stormwater, construction management)
  • Work with the program team in the planning, design, rehabilitation, and construction of large-scale water transmission and wastewater collection system facilities.
  • Provide consultation in specialized areas related to pipeline condition assessment and rehabilitation, tunneling, etc. hydraulics, small to large diameter pipelines
  • Lead teams to develop and prepare specifications, detailed design drawings, reports, planning, and engineering services during construction
  • Conduct field investigations, perform condition assessment evaluations, assist with asset management and provide business consulting guidance to municipal clients
  • Perform technical research, and communicate and apply this knowledge
  • Lead project teams in planning and/or designing a major engineering project and coordinate special planning, economic, and engineering studies
  • Execute activities on projects for master planning and modeling of water/wastewater/stormwater conveyance systems
  • Technical and quality control review of study, planning and design documents
  • Prepare calculations, models and other technical deliverables for civil/utility, conveyance and infrastructure related projects
  • Develop scope, schedule and budget for design work orders
  • Develop proposals and presentations including project understanding and approaches, and level of effort estimates
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to clients and for professional meetings
  • Supervise, delegate and oversee the work of technical staff and engineers
  • Assist with and lead business development pursuits
  • Coach and mentor junior engineers and designers
  • Coordinate with project managers, client service managers, and other project personnel from other disciplines.
  • Utilize internal project management tools and resources to provide successful management of large projects that meet or exceed the project success metrics

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental or mechanical engineering, or closely related area required; Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years professional related experience
  • PE in Ohio, or ability to obtain one through reciprocity within 6 months
  • Strong experience and proficiency in using ArcMap/GIS, preferred
  • PMP certification from the Project Management Institute a plus
  • Extensive experience in the planning, design, rehabilitation, and execution of large-scale water transmission and wastewater collection system facilities
  • A proven track record in the preparation of contract documents for water transmission and wastewater collection system facilities
  • Experience in understanding outputs from hydraulic modeling
  • Experience in the planning, design, and execution of large municipal and/or federal facilities
  • Experience in multijurisdictional interagency coordination to implement projects
  • Experience in preparing permitting and right-of-entry (ROE) applications with various federal and/or local jurisdictions
  • Experience and knowledge of industry technology for the inspection and condition assessment of water transmission and wastewater collection system assets
  • PACP Certification a plus.
  • Strong design and other technical experience and skills
  • Strong planning experience through design and construction of large municipal and/or federal facilities
  • Ability to be well organized, focusing on scope, budget and schedule
  • Candidate should be a self-starter, results-oriented, and enthusiastic
  • Able to successfully manage and deliver on multiple tasks with competing priorities
  • Able to provide consultation in specialized areas, make decisions and solve problems
  • Highly motivated self-starter with a passion to accomplish capital projects
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills required with the ability to articulate ideas and concepts both visually, verbally, and in writing, across functions and teams, up and down the chain of command
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills required, particularly Microsoft Excel, Word, Projects and PowerPoint.
  • AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D knowledge a plus
  • Ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment under tight and pressured deadlines

Salary Range: The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee’s primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Location A: $111,000 – $152,000
