As a project manager in Partner Technology, you will be responsible for leading high performing teams on global retail technology projects ranging from basic platform enhancement efforts to complex product implementations and upgrades. Bring your Project Management, technology experience and savvy to this organization to drive and deliver projects that support delivering a best in class experience to Starbucks Partners. Strong candidates have an appetite for challenge and a mind for problem solving, a concise and insightful communication style when it comes to driving and leading teams to achieve dates, a good sense of humor in the face of ambiguity and an inherent ability to balance priorities. Our team is looking for a Partner who is willing to undergo a personal and professional journey of project management and agile learning, whilst helping technology teams deliver value and delight the business.

Summary of Key Responsibilities

  • Works with regular guidance from senior program management leadership.
  • Performs core project management duties, including guiding the project through formal approval and funding gates; developing a project plan that includes a detailed budget, project timeline, detailed task-driven schedule, project RACI and resource plan, and communication plan; and managing project execution from analysis/design through build, test, and deployment.
  • When leading an Agile project, partners closely with the scrum master and product owner on all activities.
  • Ensures that project status reports are relevant, transparent, and add value.
  • Partners with relevant IT and business hiring managers to ensure that the project has the skillsets and resources required for delivery

Summary of Experience

  • Experience as a project manager
  • Experience in an IT or software development setting
  • Experience using Agile methods
  • Well-developed knowledge of standards and practices for IT project lifecycle management activities and deliverables
  • Clear understanding of project technical activities, including: (1) solution analysis and design; (2) enterprise solution, and infrastructure architecture; (3) systems integration; (4) data conversion and migration: (5) environment management and build processes; and (6) deployment planning and execution.
  • The ability to drive decision making that favors compromise and alignment over consensus building.
  • Good written and verbal communication.
  • Strong skills in the MS Office Product Suite, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years’ experience as a project manager, with at least one of those years in an IT or a software development setting.
  • Experience using Agile methods.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of IT experience required
  • Experience with HRIS systems like Taleo, Eightfold, SuccessFactors, or other ATS systems.

The pay range for this position may be narrower than that displayed, depending on where the work is performed. If you live in the greater Seattle area, we offer a flexible workplace that allows for hybrid work. Partners can work remotely up to 2 days per week and leverage the office 3 days per week, on average.
