Job Summary
Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Coordinates data collection, data management, and analyses of video and audio data for a NIH-funded research project on infants daily-life experiences of objects.
- Captures the principal data by head cameras worn by the infant at home and in the laboratory.
- Supervises undergraduate coders, communicates with all team members at all levels of seniority about the project, participates with the team in planning next steps, and assists in recruiting participants and related community outreach efforts.
- Coordinates the pipe-line of data coding including supervision of undergraduate coders and crowd-sourced coding.
- Collects data.
- Participates in hypothesis generation, data collection and analysis plans, interpretation and dissemination through conference presentations and journal articles.
- Maintains the records of data collected and stages of analysis in the pipeline.
- Recruits and does community outreach.
General Responsibilities
- Coordinates support for project management activities, resource allocation, and communication.
- Develops a schedule designed to meet necessary deadlines and communicates with team members.
- Monitors project progress and handles moderately complex issues that arise.
- Ensures projects adhere to frameworks and all documentation is maintained appropriately for each project.
- Collaborates with cross functional teams with varying levels of seniority and experience to support various programs.
- Performs a variety of administrative skills and prepares correspondence related to the project.
- Maintains a detailed, organized file and records system.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED)
Preferred
- BA or BS in psychology, cognitive science, vision science, computer science, data science, or other related fields
WORK EXPERIENCE
Required
- 2 years of relevant experience
SKILLS
Required
- Demonstrated project management skills

- Effective interpersonal skills
Preferred
- Experience in a developmental research laboratory or experience working with families and young children
- Knowledge in basic computer skills (e.g., managing computer files, MS word processing, using spreadsheets and databases; creating presentations)
- Experience with or willingness to learn MATLAB and/or R
- Experience with or willingness to learn coding platforms such as Datavyu, ElanExcellent
- Demonstrates social and communication skills
Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

This position is grant funded. The term limit of the position is based on funding and/or the life of the grant.
