Project Manager – Reporting and Consolidations

About the Opportunity:

We are partnering with an energy company in San Diego seeking a Project Manager of Reporting and Consolidations who will analyze and review intra-segment transactions, and manage the entries between the various consolidation levels and reports at all levels. Manage the consolidation process in HFM at various levels. Prepare and review reports as it relates to joint ventures and other external financial reports. Coordinate with accounting managers and assist in implementing policies and procedures to be in compliance with relevant processes.

Salary: $148,650 midpoint
Please note this range is an estimate and actual pay may vary based on qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities:

  • In charge of the consolidation process in HFM at various levels, ensure Intercompany transactions are being eliminated properly, ensure the correct calculation of NCI, and consolidate process and validation of system errors.
  • Coordinate with business line accounting managers and oversee of the preparation of reports.
  • Review and prepare reports to support external financial reporting at the SI segment, SI Partners and subsegment level.
  • Review and prepare reports related to Joint Ventures and Noncontrolling Interest at various levels to support external and internal reporting.
  • Assist in the implementation of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with SOX, internal controls, and relevant processes for growing combined entity.
  • Initiate action to improve and/or change processes. Implement and support innovative and automated accounting reporting tools and processes.
  • Serve as a liaison between Corporate and SI business unit.
  • Perform other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor`s degree in accounting, finance, economics, business administration or the equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • 10+ years in a comparable accounting role required.
  • Knowledge of financial accounting and reporting.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles generally accepted in the U.S. and Mexico.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of accounting systems and internal controls (HFM and SAP experience is a plus).
  • Ability to identify issues, analyze data, develop, recommend and implement solutions.
  • Ability to process transactions in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ability to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Effectively Interact and communicate with others, verbally and orally.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
  • Bilingual (Spanish – English) is preferred.
