Arcadis is seeking a Project NEPA Planner to join our growing Louisiana Mobility team based out of our Metairie or Baton Rouge office.

Role description:

As a member of our Louisiana team, you will support LADOTD and municipal projects, including Public-Private Partnerships (P3) and Design-Build projects. This is a unique opportunity to manage the delivery of NEPA documents for complex transportation projects throughout the state. This position does not require staff supervision.

Role accountabilities:

  • Lead and manage multi-firm, interdisciplinary environmental studies for infrastructure improvement and expansion projects.
  • Prepare NEPA documents for minor programmatic Categorical Exclusions to complex Environmental Assessments and Environmental Impact Statements.
  • Develop project scopes and budgets, interface with clients, mentor and develop junior staff, and develop and maintain project plans and schedules.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in planning, policy, a biological or physical science, or economics
  • 8 or more years’ experience preparing NEPA documentation for federally funded infrastructure projects.
  • Working knowledge of construction methods utilized for transportation projects and associated impacts to the natural and built environment.

Key Attributes

  • Proven success in delivering minor to complex NEPA documentation for transportation projects.
  • Excellent, clear, and concise, oral and written communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to coordinate meetings, resources, and presentations.
  • Must work well in a collaborative environment.
  • Fluency with MS Project, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10 or more years’ experience preparing NEPA documentation for federally funded infrastructure projects.
  • Master’s degree and related project planning or niche discipline used in NEPA analysis.
  • Experience preparing NEPA documentation for P3 and/or Design-Build transportation projects as the contractor’s representative.
  • Working knowledge of LADOTD reporting procedures, construction plan review, and project development process (e.g., Stage 1 – Planning/Environmental)
  • Experience managing technical studies completed under NEPA analysis.

The salary range for this position is $82400 – $123600.
