Project Safety Manager

As a Health and Safety Manager, you’ll join our collaborative team working on assignment within our client’s organization. You will serve as CM Safety Manager for a large infrastructure project in Seattle Washington.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish working relationships and provide visible Health & Safety technical support and leadership to the project team.
  • Provide governance oversight to ensure alignment and consistent implementation of the project HSE requirements.
  • Assist the Project Management team to review and provide comment on project Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) plans and hazard assessments.
  • Review contractors’ site-specific safety plans for compliance with the client’s standards and local regulations.
  • Verify that contractors are monitoring safety compliance with their site-specific safety plans and local regulations.
  • Participate in pre-construction and major component pre-mobilization meetings.
  • Coordinate and manage periodic safety walks with Project Managers and contractor safety personnel.
  • Raise safety observations and encourage the project team to engage in the observation reporting process.
  • Provide periodic reports to the project team documenting compliance issues, safety related challenges, incidents, and observations.
  • Review contractor incident investigations and provide comments on investigations and related trends.
  • Track and analyze safety performance and trends and provide recommendations for program improvement.
  • Support Health & Safety initiatives

  • BS Degree in Safety, Engineering or related field
  • 7+ years of full-time experience in a Health and Safety position
  • Previous experience in infrastructure/heavy civil construction environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Teams, Excel, Outlook and Power Point
  • Possess a valid driver’s license
  • Demonstrated interpersonal relations and personnel management skills
  • Working knowledge in regulatory compliance, as well as all federal, state and local agencies requirements
  • Must be familiar with applicable local, state, and OSHA rules, regulations and standards.

Ideally, You’ll Also Have:

  • Certified Safety Professional certification (CSP)

Typical salary range for this position is $94,900 – $148,300 and is commensurate with experience relative to the position.
