Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a junior/mid-level Project Scheduler at the White Sands Complex (WSC) near Las Cruces, New Mexico to manage schedules for new and existing NASA Space Network projects. The selected candidate will be responsible for the development and regular updates of resource loaded schedules for assigned programs. This role will also coordinate the administrative/operational aspects of ongoing projects within the program guidelines set by the Program Manager and customer.
Peraton is the prime contractor for NASA at the White Sands Complex (WSC) near Las Cruces, New Mexico. Operating here are two functionally identical satellite ground terminals: The White Sands Ground Terminal, and the Second TDRSS Ground Terminal. These ground terminals ensure uninterrupted communications between various ground stations, NASA’s orbiting fleet of Tracking and Data Relay Satellites (TDRS), customer spacecraft (satellites), and the computer systems that support such spacecraft. WSC serves as an interface for distributing satellite data to control centers and scientists who then use the daily influx of data to expand our ever-growing knowledge of the Earth and the universe.
This position will be responsible for the following:
- Serves as liaison between program management and planning, project team, and WSC operations and maintenance management.
- Manages project schedules and prepares status reports.
- Assesses project issues and proposes resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction goals and objectives.
- Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and coordinates with project managers, line managers, and customers.
- Provides coordination between resource managers/supervisors and ensures all necessary reviews and approvals are received.
- May conduct performance/project analyses during phase-down to benefit future/other projects, missions, and programs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Experience:
- BS degree in Engineering or Computer Science or an MBA.
- 1+ years of project engineering or related technical experience.
- 1+ years of experience in resource loaded scheduling using MS Project (or similar scheduling programs), schedule analysis, and systems engineering.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas (IT Security, Network Engineering, IT System Administration)
- Experience in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Occasional business travel may be required.
- Security clearance – this position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance and to maintain the clearance thereafter. In order to obtain a clearance, you need to be a US Citizen and show proof of citizenship.
Desired Experience:
- Previous experience working in the NASA programs/projects.
- Experience in a government contracting environment.
- Experience leading teams, improving capabilities, and redesigning processes.
- Experience implementing and managing NIST 800-53 IT Security controls.
- Experience managing Local Area Network (LAN) architectures.
- Strong people management, negotiation, and presentation skills.

Target Salary Range
$39,000 – $62,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
