Role description:

Project Wastewater Engineer with Arcadis U.S., Inc. (Long Island City, NY)

Evaluates, plans, designs, permits and supports management of projects for water, wastewater, and stormwater treatment and conveyance (pipelines, treatment, and pumping facilities). Provides engineering services and supports resident construction manager during construction: construction observation, review of shop drawings, responses to requests for information (RFI’s) and permit closeouts. Assesses, develops, and supports management of sustainability and resilience projects including vulnerability and mitigation assessments, and planning and design for utilities, municipalities, and cities. Supports Asset Management projects performing data analytics, operational, and organizational assessments, condition assessments and overall performance evaluations of water/wastewater/stormwater facilities. Leads evaluation of repairs and rehabilitation methods, development of design reports, material selections, detailed construction design, and preparation of plans, specifications, and front-end documents. Provides assistance to the development of project scopes, budgets, project plans, and schedules while also creating bid packages and cost estimates in accordance with estimated budgets and delivery schedules for each assignment. Performs detailed engineering calculations and analysis, and utilizes design software to solve complex issues as needed. Ensures project compliance with all Arcadis practices and quality, health, and safety standards.

Qualifications & Experience:

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field. Position requires 4 years of related experience, which must include some experience in each of the following skills: Analyzing the hydraulic profiles, capacity, usage, and efficiency of water and wastewater mechanical treatment processes and infrastructures; Analyzing and designing water and sewage pumping systems at treatment plants and distribution system; Calculating the reaction and residence time, and dosing of chemical feed systems at water and wastewater treatment plants and distribution system; Designing detailed process mechanical equipment and piping layouts in AutoCAD and Revit; Preparing applicable permit and registration and ensuring compliance with local and state Department of Health and Environmental Protection Agency; Mapping, digitizing, and tracking of water and wastewater infrastructures in ArcGIS for modeling, Operation and Maintenance activities, and asset management; and Preparing, evaluating, and approving construction logs, equipment submittals, change orders, and project closeouts for construction services.

Offered Wage: $109,262 to $119,262 per year.
