Role description:
In this role, you will work alongside senior-level engineers and project managers to grow your expertise and technical knowledge of water and wastewater treatment design & construction engineering. You will be a critical member of our team and be expected to support the proven reputation of excellence in Client Management/Development along with executing projects and managing project pursuits within the municipal Water/Wastewater market of this region
Role accountabilities:
This role supports projects and clients in the planning, design and construction of water/wastewater treatment plants, storm water systems, distribution/collection systems, and pump/lift stations as well as creating construction documents, specifications, and providing engineering services during construction. Additional duties include:
- Lead preparation of detailed engineering calculations & analysis
- Complete design tasks within budget and on schedule
- Prepare scopes of work, cost estimates and other project documentation
- Support the work of others and mentor junior-level engineers & design/drafting technical staff
- Work directly, when assigned, with clients to determine needs and provide solutions
- Ensure project compliance with all Arcadis practices and quality and safety standards
- Travel (up to 25%) for client meetings, project site visits, etc.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or related field
- 8 years of related industry experience in the water/wastewater field
Key Skills and Attributes:
- Flexible to work with a variety of project teams locally and across remote offices
- Experience in development of project drawings, technical specifications, project schedules and cost estimates
- Project experience including design and construction of water and wastewater treatment facilities; focused on expansion, rehabilitation, and retrofit is a plus
- Leadership experience; including managing project delivery expectations, prioritization of tasks, and mentoring
- Experience or desire for client facing role with skills to include preparation and development of proposals, managing client expectations and overall relationship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Engineering or an MBA
- PE License in New York and/or in other nearby states (or ability to obtain NY PE within 12 months of hire)
- 10 years of progressively responsible experience
- Active participation in regional (local/state) and/or national professional associations

Arcadis offers benefits for full time positions. We offer seven paid holidays and potentially up to two floating holidays per calendar year depending on start, and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $82,000 – $123,600.
