JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
1) A Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
2) A valid Alabama Teacher’s Certificate.
3) Must meet No Child Left Behind (NCLB) federal and state Highly Qualified (HQ) requirements or a willingness to meet the requirements within the designated timeframe.
4) Such alternatives and additions to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
JOB GOAL: To provide explicit standards-based instruction by using data to close achievement gaps in grade-level knowledge and skills.
- Determines individual and class needs using pre, interim, and post-assessments.
- Establishes objectives and plans learning experiences based on data.
- Implements activities using a variety of techniques to utilize instructional time and meets objectives.
- Exhibits positive human relation skills.
- Analyzes data and using data to monitor student progress.
- Communicates with parents/guardians, colleagues, and community groups.
- Demonstrates proficiency in written and oral communication.
- Maintains and submits records and reports in a timely manner.
- Adheres to school system rules, administrative procedures, local board policies, state, and federal rules and regulations.
- Engages in professional growth & demonstrates professional ethics & leadership.
- Records daily attendance and participation for each student.
- Submits progress reports and grades to assigned administrator and district personnel.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the principal.
Attendance is required for all days.
Mandatory Professional Development on June 13, 2023 is required
(8:00 AM-2:00 PM).
- June 13, 2023 – 8:00 – 2:00 Professional Development Day
- June 14, 2023 – First day for students
- June 30, 2023 – Last day for K- 8 students
- July 12, 2023 – Last day for 9-12 students -High Schools only
- June 19, 2023 – No School- Juneteenth
- July 4, 2023 -No school- Fourth of July Holiday
Teacher Work Time:
- Elementary and Middle School: 7:45 am – 2:15 pm
- High School: 7:30 am – 3:15 pm

Pay for Summer Promotion:
- Certified Teachers – $65.00 per hour
- Classified /Non-Certified – $35.00 per hour (pending board approval)
