Local Unit & Position Description

DNV – Energy Services North America is seeking a Proposal Manager – Utility Programs – Remote with a passion for supporting the future of the clean energy industry within our Energy Management team, a team of clean energy professionals across the country. The successful candidate will join our growing business development proposal group.
The Proposal Manager will be responsible for working collaboratively with a team, managing proposal deliverables and timelines, writing proposal sections, working with subject matter experts, facilitating kick-off and review meetings, developing graphics, and polishing and delivering a finished proposal product on time and in compliance with RFP and DNV requirements.
Candidates must also be highly proficient in MS Office Suite. Familiarity with Adobe InDesign and Photoshop is a plus. Familiarity and experience with business marketing strategy and development are desirable.
This position may be performed in any remote location in the Continental U.S. (excluding Colorado)
What You’ll do
Proposal Management
- Proposal reviews – assessing required content, proposal requirements, necessary attachments, create proposal development plans
- Proposal document development and management – Constructing a proposal outline; document writing assignments, presenting and discussing the RFP with proposal teams; assisting and establishing proposal win points; affirming and monitoring proposal team assignments; track progress using a compliance matrix; managing draft and final reviews, and ensuring all changes are incorporated
- Proposal editing and formatting – Technical editing of proposal content for style, consistency, clarity, voice, readability, and spelling/grammar; document formatting per brand standards and RFP requirements
- Proposal content development – Constructing final content from outline material constructed by others; collecting and assembling core qualification materials (resumes, bios, project descriptions, and related); tracking and monitoring working drafts; assembling required attachments, addendums, and related, including communicating with other company managers and staff for required legal reviews, signatures, necessary information, and similar; finalizing deliverables into “ready to send” form; sending proposals via electronic means and/or hard copy shipments, as requested per RFP
- Provide ad-hoc support to business development team
Proposal Tracking and Content Management
- Tracking current and pending bids
- Teams/SharePoint management of all core materials in proposal development – resumes, project descriptions, company and business area descriptions, and similar
- Identify process improvements
Position Qualifications
What Is Required
- Prior experience developing proposals
- Proficiency with MS Office products is essential
- Experience performing technical editing using one or more style books, such as Chicago and AP
- Experience with government, energy efficiency and/or renewable energy projects a plus
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university
- Structured thinking and communication with the ability to clearly articulate and distill complex concepts for any audience
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment
- Thorough commitment to external and internal customer service and satisfaction
- Excellent oral and written communications skills in English
- Successful completion of pre-employment background and drug screening
What Is Preferred
- Experience with government, energy efficiency and/or renewable energy projects a plus
- Familiarity with Adobe InDesign and Photoshop a plus
- Demonstrated project management experience; APMP or PMP certification preferred

As required by the Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Act and New York City Salary Transparency Law, DNV provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in Colorado or New York City. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For the state of Colorado and New York City, NY only, the range of starting pay for this role is $70,000 – $85,000.
