The Naval Nuclear Laboratory comprises the U.S. Department of Energy locations and personnel responsible for developing advanced naval nuclear propulsion technology, providing technical support to ensure the safety and reliability of our nation’s naval nuclear reactors, and training the Sailors who operate those reactors in the U.S. Navy’s submarines and aircraft carrier Fleets. Job Description

Are you interested in joining the fast-paced environment of fleet support Prototype Safety Systems is hiring within the Submarine Power Plant Mechanical subdivision. Join a high performing team that has design cognizance of the safety systems and containment of the Kesselring Site Prototypes. Opportunities include: trouble record resolution of emergent issues that support ongoing training and testing operations; containment testing of the structures and components at the Prototypes; in-service inspection program development and disposition of data; safety component evaluation, specification, and testing; and ensuring industrial work is executed safely in the vicinity of the operating plants. Working in a teaming environment, the group multitasks to handle a multitude of emergent and longer term projects in parallel. Come be part of a great team! Successful candidates will be able to execute in a multidisciplinary environment, quickly process and assess data in real time, and leverage a fundamental understanding of fluid mechanical systems.

Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill

BS degree in engineering or Bachelor’s degree in a science related field from an accredited college or university required.

Pay Range

$64,500 – $96,700 annually

Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
