Summary of Purpose
Performs paraprofessional duties in support of one or more instructional disciplines. Typical duties for all paraprofessionals are listed below. The employee is expected to work in a multi-cultural, diverse working environment.
Typical Duties
This description is intended to indicate the types of duties and responsibilities requested of the employee assigned this title. It is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all the duties and responsibilities that may be required:
1. Maintains inventories, orders supplies in accordance with college purchasing procedures, prepares maintenance work orders, and arranges for outside repairs of equipment and instruments, as necessary.
2. Monitors safety and security of work area, equipment, supplies, and materials; maintains cleanliness of work area, ensuring conformity with MIOSHA directives.
3. Coordinate and staffs open lab hours
4. Issues and checks in instruments, teaching aids, supplies, equipment, and materials.
5. Performs necessary clerical duties and functions.
6. Performs related tasks, as assigned.
7. Ability to work additional hours, as needed.

8. Schedules, administers, proctors, scores, and records college placement tests, professional certifications for various industries, and make-up exams, when applicable.
9. Utilizes college software to determine testing eligibility, input scores, log, scan and email writing samples.
10. Works with college staff to create testing schedules.
11. Creates and maintains spreadsheets of testing data.
12. Communicates Testing Center activity (e.g., schedules, web updates, flyers, etc.) to appropriate faculty, staff and external community partners.
13. Assists in loading software on computers in the BIS/CIS labs, as needed.
14. Administers make-up tests on an individual basis for instructors, if applicable.

Minimum Education and Experience
EDUCATION: An earned Associate’s degree or higher in Computer Information Systems
-OR-
An Associate Degree or higher with a minimum of 16 college credit hours in Computer Information Systems
-AND-
EXPERIENCE: Must possess and maintain a current and valid Michigan driver’s license.

Part-time Classified employees are offered the opportunity to have medical, dental, vision at the full monthly premium; life insurance is also available at a nominal cost. Participation requires that benefit costs be taken via payroll deduction.
