About the Public Affairs Department

The Communications & Public Affairs group provides a consistent and unified voice for Central Arizona Project (CAP) in matters of public policy, state and federal legislation and strategic positioning of the organization with our stakeholders and throughout legislative or regulatory processes. In addition, the group coordinates internal and external communications and strategic activities across the organization to ensure that Board of Directors’ Integrated Internal Strategic Plan and other priorities and CAP’s business objectives are met.

About the Position
As the Public Affairs Executive Assistant, you would provide a full range of administrative, event, and project management support to the Public Affairs Director and Department. This role includes independent responsibilities, such as planning internal and external events. You would also complete various project-based assignments to ensure professional customer service and communication with other departments, customers, and interested public. Some responsibilities include managing a complex calendar for the Director of Public Affairs, organizing and maintaining working files, planning and preparing for meetings, arranging employee travel, serving as department designated representative for technology systems and business disaster recovery functions, providing administrative support for department, planning and executing special events and annual department projects, and providing back-up for GM executive assistant role. Part-time telework option available after onboarding period.

About the Qualifications
The successful candidate for this position will have an associate’s degree plus five years of related experience (or HS diploma plus seven years). You should be proficient with technology systems including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc. You should have experience planning and executing professional meetings and events as well as possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
