Why does the job exist?

The purpose of the position is to ensure the Department of Health satisfies all Public Health Accreditation Board requirements and maintains its accreditation through the Board.

How does it get done?

Coordinate the Department’s strategies and actions to maintain its public health accreditation. Develop and implement an agency-wide action plan to ensure that Divisions and Facilities engage in work to satisfy public health accreditation requirements.

Who are the customers?

Governor of New Mexico, Department of Health Cabinet Secretary, Department of Health Divisions and Facilities Senior Leadership Team, Department of Health employees across all divisions and facilities.

Ideal Candidate

Experience working for a Public Health Department Accreditation, proven excellence in facilitation and collaboration skills, experience working with Quality Improvement and Performance Management. Proficient with Microsoft Office Software.

Minimum Qualification

Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Guidance and Counseling, Education, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Criminology and/or Family Studies/Services and four (4) years of any combination of experience including working with communities, working on health or social service related matters, social work/case management experience, behavioral health and/or health care. Employment Requirements

Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in an office setting: late hours and weekends work may be required. Will be exposed to regular periods of video display terminal and keyboard usage and stressful situations. Travel may be required. Incumbent will work under stress and frequent time constraints. Must have own mode of transportation. Incumbent may be required to furnish a personal vehicle for carrying out assignments.
