ODNR owns and manages state parks, state forests, state nature preserves and wildlife areas. We license all hunting, fishing and watercraft; oversee and permit all mineral extraction, monitor dam safety, manage water resources and serve as the second largest Law Enforcement presence in the State of Ohio.

What You’ll Do:
- Broadens awareness and support for wildlife conservation and the agency’s mission.
- Manages the Lake Erie Birding Trail Guide and outreach.
- Promotes Wildlife Viewing programs and the Division at events, including conducting tours and talks.
- Writes and submits for publication articles promoting wildlife viewing in Ohio.
- Represent the agency on state, regional, and national programs and committees on Wildlife Viewing and Nature Tourism Working Group.
- Develop strategic and operational work plans and prepare required program reports

Qualifications
30 mos. exp. in field of journalism or communication dealing in public multi-media techniques & relations, public speaking, news writing, reporting & editing or technical report translation & communication dealing in public meetings; valid driver’s license.
-Or completion of undergraduate core program in journalism or communication; 6 mos. exp. in public multi-media techniques & relations in field of journalism or communication; valid driver’s license.
-Or 12 mos. exp. as Public Information Specialist, 64420; valid driver’s license.
-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
