Public Involvment Manager

Responsible for a list of Daily Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • Communicate with DFJV Management and Operations staff to determine Public Outreach needs and priorities.
  • Monitor and respond to the PIM Hotline voicemails received from the PIM Hotline to the PIM e-mail address.
  • Monitor and respond to the PIM e-mails received at the PIM e-mail address.
  • Prepare Construction & Road Closure Alerts as necessary for Authority approval per the section 53.2 Table of Notifications in a timely manner to ensure Operations schedules are met.
  • Prepare Business and Residential Impact Mitigation (BR per the section 53.2 Table of Notifications, as necessary.
  • Review Construction Memos for notification requirements and provide notification as directed.
  • Review PTE’s for notification requirements and provide notification as directed.
  • Prepare and distribute Collateral Materials (brochures and mailers, flyers and handouts, door notifications, and comment/complaint cards), as necessary.
  • Maintain the Public Contact Database (PCD) that records all communications between the DFJV and members of the public about the Project.
  • Document public contact per the contract and DFJV’s Public Information Protocol.
  • Document all public information requests in the Public Contact Database.
  • Update all public outreach communications (phone, e-mail or in-person) in the Public Contact Database.
  • Contact information is recorded into the database within three days of initial contact, and records are uploaded to the Authority’s database each month. The PI Team provides to the Authority weekly reports of the preceding week’s contacts.
  • Direct all media inquiries to the Authority’s Public Information Officer.
  • Respond to Emergency complaints within 24 hours, in coordination with the Authority.
  • Follow the Emergency Communications Actions Plan (ECAP) detailing the DFJV communications response and Crisis Communications Plan of action in the event of an emergency event or crisis.
  • Public Information Manager is responsible for gathering information on the emergency or crisis and coordinating directly with the Authority in the most expedient manner possible.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Project Management staff and executives.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of public relations, outreach and communications experience
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Experience with public outreach, community engagement, providing presentations to public officials and communication with a variety of individuals
  • Outgoing, self-motivated team player
  • Comfortable engaging audiences across a range of demographics and learning styles

Preferred:

  • Bachelors degree in related field
  • work experience on infrastructure projects
  • Detail oriented and enthusiastic with demonstrable knowledge of and ability to implement various public involvement techniques.

Annual Salary – $70,000 – $85,000 DOE

(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, and skillset)
