Gallery Books is seeking a publicity assistant to join the publicity team. In this role, the ideal candidate will support both the VP Executive Publicist and Senior Publicity Manager in the creation and execution of publicity campaigns for books ranging from celebrity memoir to commercial fiction to compelling nonfiction. Imprints include Gallery Books, 13a, and Threshold Editions. The ideal candidate would have previous publicity experience and will possess excellent organization and communication skills and a strong ability to multitask.
Responsibilities will include:
• Day-to-day administrative support for the VP Executive Publicist and Senior Publicity Manager
• Supporting with media campaigns, event logistics/book tours, booking author travel (flights, cars, hotels etc.) and keeping track of expenses
• Coordinating and sending out review copies to media
• Researching and compiling media contact lists and clippings
• Creating and writing press materials and pitches
• Administrative duties on a case-by-case basis within the publicity department.
Role Requirements. The ideal candidate will possess the following:
• Publicity experience a plus
• Excellent organization skills and ability to multi-task multiple ongoing projects
• Adaptable, resourceful, and proactive problem-solver who enjoys a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and writing skills
• Curiosity and drive to learn from publicity team members
• Strong interest in book publishing, publicity, and media relations
• Highly motivated and a proactive self-starter
• Fluency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

The annual salary for this position is $50,000.00 – $50,000.00
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
