Position: Quality Engineer III
Job Location: 680 W. California Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94086
Duties: Perform quality assurance testing for large-scale, eCommerce Mobile and Web applications, tools, and software by collaborating with project teams to establish test cases and requirements. Write test cases in accordance with project requirements and established standards. Obtain test case approval from the project team. Apply test case instructions to products under testing; executing test cases. Evaluate results against expected results; and update project teams regarding results and needed fixes. Develop software quality assurance (SQA) test plans for assigned projects by determining exact testing scope for assigned projects. Determine data and environmental requirements. Identify dependencies and risks; and determine schedule of test deliverables. Develop Test Automation with Java, TestNG, GQL, NodeJS, JavaScript, CI/CD integration, Cucumber, Appium. Participate in small- to large-scale projects by reviewing project requirements. Assist in the writing and developing of code, conduct unit testing, communicate status and issues to appropriate team members and stakeholders, collaborate with project team and cross-functional teams, troubleshoot open issues and bug-fixes; and ensure on-time delivery and hand-offs. Provide solutions for coding errors by collaborating with software developers to review coding algorithms, develop unit testing plans to test code, develop testing requirements based on code functionality, analyze testing results to determine needed fixes, query application logs and databases and checking configuration files to troubleshoot issues encountered during testing, resolve minor code errors, and recommend code fixes or solutions for testing errors. Demonstrate up-to-date expertise and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices, support and align efforts to meet customer and business needs, and build commitment for perspectives and rationales. Provide and support the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders, identify business needs, determine and carry out necessary processes and practices, monitor progress and results, recognize and capitalize on improvement opportunities, and adapt to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities.
Minimum education and experience required: Master’s degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or related field. Position does not require specific years of experience but requires listed skills.
Skills required: Experience performing quality assurance testing for large-scale, eCommerce Mobile and Web applications, tools, and software using test automation frameworks. Experience developing Test Automation with the following tools Java, TestNG, GQL, NodeJS, JavaScript, CI/CD integration, Cucumber, and Appium; Experience with Order Management Systems including Sterling OMS. Experience with alerting and production monitoring and dashboard tools including dynatrace, grafana, and splunk. Experience participating in small- to large-scale projects by reviewing project requirements, assisting in the writing and developing of code. Experience providing solutions for coding errors by collaborating with software developers to review coding algorithms and developing unit testing plans to test code. Experience developing tests for API and backend functionality. Experience establishing test cases and requirements and writing test cases including white, gray, and black box tests in accordance with project requirements and established standards. Experience determining data and environmental requirements and identifying dependencies, risks and determining schedule of test deliverables. Experience querying application logs, databases and checking configuration files to troubleshoot issues encountered during testing. Experience resolving minor code errors and recommending code fixes or solutions for testing errors. Experience planning and estimating efforts to meet customer and business needs and estimating using agile methodologies. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.
Salary Range: The annual salary range for this full-time position is $141,107/year to $170,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
