About Us

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory comprises the U.S. Department of Energy locations and personnel responsible for developing advanced naval nuclear propulsion technology, providing technical support to ensure the safety and reliability of our nation’s naval nuclear reactors, and training the Sailors who operate those reactors in the U.S. Navy’s submarines and aircraft carrier Fleets. Job Description

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory Quality Engineering and Assessment team supports the Quality Assurance Program through development and maintenance of quality processes and requirements, consultation with other departments and external organizations, and independent review and assessment of quality processes. We also perform internal and external audits to validate compliance with requirements. The selected candidate will be expected to gain a general knowledge of all applicable requirements and routinely interact with management and employees throughout NNL. Occasional travel may be required.

Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill

Bachelor’s degree in a technical, engineering or science-related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of two years of relevant experience or; Master’s degree in a degree in a technical, engineering or science-related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of one year of relevant experience or; Currently or previously EOOW qualified in the Nuclear Operations Program or SRE Qualification

Preferred Skills

Experience performing assessments, inspections, evaluations or audits of procedures or processes against requirements.

Pay Range

$73,000- $109,600 annually

Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
