Position Summary:
Performs product inspection of precision machined aerospace products including aerospace threaded fasteners, specialty bolts, and fuse pins utilizing standard inspection tooling as required to determine adherence to engineering and customer specifications, department procedures, and quality standards.Coordinates with management and quality personnel on related product quality problems and expedites solutions in a timely manner.Maintains product quality documentation in compliance with established procedures.Monitors product and process non-compliance and verifies compliance as described in the Quality Assurance Manual.
Key Position Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Interfaces with manufacturing and suppliers concerning quality matters and corrective actions. May visit suppliers for the purpose of audits, corrective action follow-ups and a review of quality operating systems.
- May participate as a functional team member to accomplish and execute quality objectives established by the Company.
- Prepares inspection reports for management and acts as a team member in solving problems at meetings to correct problems. Initiates production corrective action where needed.
- Reviews and initiates statistical process control (SPC) data from manufacturing and/or suppliers. May verify material certifications from suppliers. Makes recommendations for process reviews based upon SPC data.
- Communicates to quality and manufacturing personnel on improved quality methods to reduce defects, increase production, efficiency, and reduce costs.
- Validates calibrations of all test and measurement equipment in areas of responsibility.
- Performs other assigned inspection duties as may be delegated by management for the operations of the Quality Assurance Department.
- Generates reports on quality and workmanship, and recommends improvements for the enhancement of overall Company quality.
- Initiate action system required to prevent reoccurrence of material defects.
- Performs other duties that may be assigned by management.
- Performs other duties as assigned or necessitated by change or condition.
- Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
- Other related duties as required
Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- Must read and write English fluently.
- High School Diploma, or equivalent GED, and technical training in Quality Control are preferred.
- Minimum 2-5 years experience as an inspection and/or operator in dimensional and visual inspection of precision machined product and threaded product utilizing standard aerospace approved gaging and methods.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing quality environment.
- Experienced and knowledgeable in Aerospace industry.
- Inspection using micrometers, calipers, height gages, ring gages, plugs gages, tri rolls, and optical comparators.
- Knowledge of Military and government specifications.
- Prior knowledge of quality standards and expectations.
Desired Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Ability to plan, organize, and document inspection activity.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Some computer literacy in Windows environment.
- Proven team player and leader.
ITAR Requirement:
– Due to ITAR regulations, this position requires that the employee must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident) or a Foreign Person for whom a license is obtained.
Quality Requirement:
– Employees will participate as required in understanding, implementing and maintaining theCompany Quality Policy in accordance with AS-9100C and/or ISO-9001:2008 requirements.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
– The employee may visit suppliers and potential suppliers.Position works around machinery and equipment.The employee is expected to access, enter, and retrieve data by using a computer terminal. This is primarily a position that requires employees to stand for 8 hours.The position requires occasionally lifting parts up to 40 lbs.The employee must often bend and reach to load materials on equipment.The employee also moves throughout the building to collect, deliver and handle production parts.

The pay range represents the low and high end of the salary range we reasonably expect to pay for this position at the time of posting. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, education, skills, qualifications, performance, and business or organizational needs. Pay Range: $22 to $30/hour
