• Ensure the reliability of the manufacturing process by performing material testing, chemical analysis, and inspection instructions to validate production processes and materials at each stage of manufacturing
• Ensure lab equipment is in working condition through calibration and maintenance
• Identify areas of improvements for test methods and inspection
• Prepare topics for Material Review Board meetings and assist in identifying the root cause of non-conformance
• Test incoming raw material to ensure it meets specifications
• Maintain statistics on test results
• Maintain proper inventory of lab consumables
• Perform other related duties as required
Additional description
• Perform duties requiring kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 20 pounds periodically
• Work in/near electro-magnetic fields created by high temperature induction furnaces
• Vocal communication, hearing, and visual acuity are required for safety, direction, and the exchange of ideas in the industrial environment

Candidate skills & requirements
Associate’s degree, trade or technical education in a directly related field
• Minimum of three years quality control experience involving wet chemistry and/or materials analysis
• Experience using statistical tools to analyze data
• ISO9001/AS9100/ISO17025 experience
• Experience in the aerospace, chemical processing, or metal finishing industries preferred
• Experience using a gas chromatograph preferred
