DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Ellenboro Dayshift Quality Group Lead/Win SPC Specialist will assist the Quality Manager in meeting Quality Department objectives outlined in the Quality Management System and Departmental Vision. Strong relationships will be required with a broad range of people including QA techs at all plants, Night Production Manager, Production, Inventory, Safety, Maintenance, Engineering and Suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with all EHS/5S protocols
- Report any safety violations or issues immediately for prompt resolution
- Promote good housekeeping within assigned areas and set 5S priorities
- Maintain appropriate attendance, conduct and performance levels of the position according to the quality tech and group leader guidelines
- Lead by example and drive accountability of QA techs and others
- Strive for continuous improvement in all aspects of quality activities.
- Communicate to quality associates and supervision regarding daily expectations to meet targets for EHS, production, quality, and other key measures; including CRF, CEI, CFA, 3D audit, line audit and Tier 1 data
- Coordinate and/or provide on the job training for quality associates
- Ensures QA techs know and understand CTQ’s, SOP’s, Work Instructions and Visuals & Win SPC
- Coordinate and/or provide quality training, including Win SPC, for production associates as needed
- Provide support to production on various quality matters/concerns
- Communicate effectively with associates, group leaders, supervisors and managers on other shifts regarding pertinent issues
- Advises Quality Manager and nights production manager of employee issues that may require follow-up and/or disciplinary action
- Analyze data to determine CI & COQ projects. Assign QA techs to work on projects
- Assist QA techs in Root Cause / Corrective Action / Continuous Improvement initiatives
- Lead any quality 8D & A3 projects needed to meet the needs of production and keep Quality Managers involved with the status of projects for communication and assistance
- Issue and follow up on Quality Alerts
- Ensure all work instructions/visual aids are reviewed and up-to-date every 10 months
- Ensure all data for certifications is being collected as required
- Assist QM in maintaining quality management system
- Responsible for ensuring all line calls are addressed as defined in the line call process
- Perform first article inspections following the first article inspection process
- Participate with new product launches by serving on launch teams as the quality representative
- Perform all quality technician functions as needed
- Monitor OOC conditions, Root Cause and Corrective Actions in Win SPC
- Create login for new Win SPC users
- Run Win SPC reports for individuals as needed
- Perform run-offs on new equipment
- Perform and evaluate gauge R&R on operators
- All other duties as assigned by the Quality Managers
Qualifications
- Excellent Communication Skills (both verbal and written): Communicate effectively with others to achieve results using a variety of methods
- Strong Interpersonal Skills: Establish and maintain business relationships with internal or external customers and suppliers
- Self-starter who is able to work independently and/or in a team environment
- Able to provide development, guidance and direction to QA techs
- Prioritize tasks for the group
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common statistical data, productivity reports, and supporting documents
- Ability to read technical specifications and interpret drawings
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Use of problem solving tools such as Brainstorming, 5 Why, Fishbone diagram, A3, 8D, etc
- Computer Skills: Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet applications. Ability to become proficient with WSOE, WBOX, WRRS, DMR, etc
- Use of measuring devices, including tape measures, calipers, micrometers, protractors, etc
- High School Diploma/GED required, college experience or degree a plus
- Two to five years in a manufacturing setting desired
- Minimum 1 year experience at Cornerstone Building Brands preferred
