The Boeing Company is seeking Real-Time Software Engineers to develop, integrate, test, and deliver software solutions for the Boeing Phantom Works Advanced Weapons Software team in St. Charles, MO. This team works in all phases of the software development lifecycle. This position provides an opportunity to work directly with launch platforms to integrate weapons software and hardware. This software engineer will collaborate with a multi-discipline engineering team to integrate and test guidance, navigation, and control algorithms.

Position Responsibilities :

  • Develop software on a Windows platform in both unclassified and classified environments
  • Build real-time embedded systems, weapons systems, and weapon interfaces
  • Develop solutions using C++ and Python languages
  • Use an agile process following a set of standard engineering process
  • Test your software and assist system level testing to verify accurate software functionality
  • Analyze problem reports and troubleshooting software defects
  • Develop leadership skills and experiences

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience) :

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or other technical degree
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional software development experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience utilizing Linux and/or Windows operating systems
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience developing software for real-time embedded systems

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience) :

  • 3 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with weapon and/or aircraft interfaces
  • Professional experience with Visual Studio, git, Gitlab, real-time operating systems, and/or C++
  • Previous role that used an agile software development process

Typical Education/Experience :

Associate (Level 2)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Experienced (Level 3)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years’ related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Note: Basic relocation will be offered for eligible internal candidates.

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only. Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range for associate level: $85,000 – $115,000

Summary pay range for experienced level: $104,550 – $141,450
