Receptionist & Data Entry Specialist, Child Care Assistance Program

The Receptionist& Data Entry Specialist is often the first point of contact for visitors to our agency and provides critical data entry and administrative support to the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP). The Receptionist & Data Entry Specialist is responsible for providing receptionist desk coverage, including greeting and directing visitors by telephone or in person, and entering program participant data into the program database. The Receptionist & Data Entry Specialist also maintains a database listing of child care providers and community resources, provides clerical support including composing and typing documents, responding to messages and returning phone calls, and maintainting electronic program files, and occassionally attends community-based outreach events. Staff in this program are provided opportunities to engage in program-related training and continuing education opportunities, including obtaining membership with the Illinois Gateways to Opportunity Registry.

Candidate qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
  • Prior clerical, reception, or data entry experience preferred.
  • Experience working with individuals who frequently access community or state services to support their families a plus.
  • Proficient at keyboarding and using Microsoft Office products.
  • High level of organization, time management, and task prioritization skills.
  • Effective customer service skills.

Job details:

  • Compensation: starting hourly rate of$15-16/hr; commensurate with experience.
  • Benefits: Medical/dental/vision insurance, 3+ weeks paid time off in the first year including the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day (PTO increases with tenure); 11 paid holidays, supplemental insurance options, 401(k) with match (more benefits details here).
  • Location: The Receptionist & Data Entry Specialist has a home office location at2133 Johnson Dr., Granite Cityand will occassionally cover shifts at601 James R. Thompson Blvd., East St. Louisas well as travel locally for community engagement events. Opportunities for hybrid schedule following orientation and training.
  • Schedule: Full-time, hourly; general business hours.
  • Student Loan Forgiveness: Brightpoint is an approved agency for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF).
