Receptionist (Part-Time, AM)

The Part-TimeReceptionistis the first point of contact for our agency and is the image of the agency to the public. The Part-Time Receptionist provides a wide range of customer centered receptionist and clerical supports, including greeting and directing visitors by telephone or in person, providing administrative support across the organization, coordinating front-desk activities, and distributing correspondence for administrative services. Covering the reception desk is the primary responsibility of this role, with data entry coverage as a secondary responsibility as time allows.

What you’ll do:

  • Answer the main telephone line and direct calls using a multi-line phone system and take messages for staff as needed.
  • Maintain visitation rooms including ensuring space is neat and toys are sanitized.
  • Greet visitors and manage the reception area ensuring that all contacts reflect the desired agency image.
  • Receive and sort incoming mail confirming it is organized and delivered to the appropriate individual.
  • Maintain high level of confidentiality.
  • Complete data entry tasks as assigned when needed.

Who you are:

  • You have a High School diploma or equivalent.
  • You have working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other modern software programs.
  • You have the ability to maintain cooperative relationships with members of staff and have a hospitable, helpful attitude with clients and agency’s public.

The Details:

  • Location: 5958 S. Marshfield Ave, Chicago IL.
  • Schedule: Part-Time, hourly; 8:30am-2:00pm.
  • Staff are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and to submit proof of their vaccination status before their start date unless they have an agency approved medical or religious exemption.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary: $15-17/hr; commensurate with experience.
  • Student Loan Forgiveness: Children’s Home & Aid is an approved agency for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF).
