Chandler, the fourth largest City in Arizona, is in one of the fastest growing innovation and technology centers in the nation. The City of Chandler Community Services Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a Recreation Aide – Child Watch (Part-Time, Non-Benefited). This position is ongoing part-time temporary and will serve at the discretion of the department director.

Location: Tumbleweed Recreation Center, 745 E Germann Rd, Chandler AZ 85286

Work Schedule: The work schedule for this position will include 4-19 hours per week, varied workdays.

Who we are looking for
Our new team members will have a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. We are looking for someone with experience in a childwatch setting. Our ideal candidate is energetic, a creative team player who can communicate effectively, multitask, and apply independent judgement.

Essential Functions:
1. Assists in conducting and monitoring a variety of competitive and non-competitive games, arts and crafts, instructional and classroom activities for youth; maintains order and enforces game and program rules, regulations and policies to ensure safety and well being of participants.
2. Assists in preparing materials and resources for activities, including arts and crafts materials, sports equipment and technical requirements.
3. Assists in planning, organizing and setup of field trips, special events and projects.
4. Maintains a clean and safe environment at assigned recreation site; sanitizes equipment, vacuums, mops, and removes trash.

Minimum qualifications
• High school student or graduate; and
• First Aid and CPR/AED certifications may be required depending on assignment; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.

Desired qualifications
• Experience in child watch setting

The City of Chandler will conduct a pre-employment DOT drug and alcohol test and a driving record check as a condition of employment. An offer of employment is contingent upon acceptable results.
