Summary
Under direct supervision of related department management team, performs customer service duties of assigned facility. Monitors activities of participants, issues equipment and provides program information to customers.
The intent of this position description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by incumbent(s) in this position. Essential Job Functions & Other Important Duties
- Provides customer service to all participants in activities and programs at area of assignment.
- Processes guests with activity registration and facility rentals for programs and services in accordance with department software.
- Promotes all facilities, programs and services when in contact with Members and Guests.
- Responds to inquiries and complaints related to programs, services and special events.
- Distributes equipment to customers and cleans assigned areas and equipment.
- Opens and closes facilities according to established policies and procedures.
- Monitors facility activities for participant compliance with health and safety rules.
- Prepares accident and/or injury incident reports when required.
Other Important Duties:
- Attends training and meetings as required.
- May be required to work extended hours including evenings, weekends and holidays for special events.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Regular and consistent attendance for the assigned work hours is essential.
Specialized Job Functions:
Youth Services
- Provides a clean, well-maintained and safe playroom area.
- Provides an entertaining and stimulating environment for the children.
- Monitors the children’s activities to ensure their safety at all times.
- Properly cleans, disinfects and maintains the playroom areas, including all toys, equipment, play surfaces and other spaces.
- Maintains accurate records on all children within the playroom area.This includes having a medical form and release on each child, having children signed in and out by parents and making sure that all incidences involving the children are recorded.
- Provides activities and encourages play which is appropriate to the developmental levels of the children.
- Prepares room for party by setting out proper cake, party favors, tableware, balloons, drinks and food if needed.
- Assists guests in serving of food, party favors and other various tasks.
- Responsible for clean-up and restocking once parties are completed.
- Must possess current CPR and First Aid Certification within six months from date of employment and be able to perform CPR and/or first aid as needed.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds as position is subject to picking up children, setting up, conducting and cleaning up program activities, etc.
Camp Counselor
- Ensures a non-competitive, positive, self-image enhancing environment for each participant through the direction of non-competitive, fun, varied and well-organized activities.
- Directly leads activities that provides the opportunity for involvement of all children on an equal level. The Counselor prepares, in advance, directions for activities, daily schedules and required equipment used during the activities.
- Exhibits enthusiasm for the activity to impart a feeling of excitement to camp participants.
- Follows procedures for camper check-in/check-out. Completes reports for accidents/incidents, behavioral modifications, and camp schedules.
- Promotes safety and proper storage of equipment, including inventory of supplies.
- Ensures safety of youth during transportation while on field trips.
- Provides and adheres to established guidelines set forth for the safety, behavior, communication, and discipline of the camp participants.
- Recognizes and rewards positive, improved, and outstanding behavior and/or accomplishments of camp participants.

- Ensures participants are using related equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
- Provides participants with information on related equipment and also provides demonstrations on proper usage of equipment.
- Monitors games for adult sports leagues and inputs league scores online.
- Assists with acquiring and managing the organization of team rosters and assists league officials during games when issues arise.
- Must possess current CPR and First Aid Certification within six months from date of employment and be able to perform CPR and/or first aid as needed.
- Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds as position is subject to handling fitness machines and equipment.

Preferred Education, Experience, and Certifications:
- Must be at least 16 years old and have six (6) months customer service or public contact experience.
*Exception: Due to nature of responsibilities at the Frisco Heritage Center, must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, criminal background check and MVR check, if applicable.
- May be required to possess a valid State of Texas Driver’s License.

- Work is performed in office and some outdoor environments.
- May be subject to exposure to air and water borne pathogens, body fluids, and infectious diseases when applying CPR, First Aid or cleaning facilities.

Work performed is primarily:
