Clarification from the agency
U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. or U.S. Territory for three (3) or more continuous years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation.
Duties
- Oversees the accomplishment of work and evaluates waterfront operation efficiencies. Supports management team in decision making and responding to concerns of guests and users.
- Maintains daily logs and records as required. Keeps manager informed of events or items of significance.
- Responsible for the life guarding of guests at the waterfront. Rescues swimmers and administers first aid as required. Rescues swimmers and administers first aid as trained and responds to medical emergencies throughout the property.
- Coordinates and conducts in-service and water survival training. Attends and or arranges for the conduct of aquatics and ocean front safety training.
- Responsible for the safeguarding and protection of funds, property and personnel.

- Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- A one year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para. 2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
- Must be physically fit in order to perform lifeguard duties.
- Continuous exposure to sun and prolonged periods of high temperature and humidity.
- In case of exposure to infectious disease, incumbent is required to obtain the Hepatitis B vaccination series within a 24-hour period.
- Incumbent is required to follow environmental safeguards and wear personal protective equipment.
- The incumbent may be subject to additional background checks if required to have regular and recurring contact with children.
- Work hours may involve weekend, weekdays, holidays and night duty.
- May be assigned to irregular duties or when needed for special recreational events and related requirements.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Must hold the following certifications and certifications MUST be uploaded and received at the time of application submission:
- Waterfront Lifeguard Certification
- CPR/AED Certification
- Oxygen Administration Certification
- First Aid Certification
2. Within 6 months of hire, incumbent must obtain first responder’s certification.
3. Must have 12 months of experience in waterfront operation as a lifeguard with experience in ocean rescue.
4. Must be able to use sound judgment, accomplish tasks within established timeframes, and possess good people skills requiring the ability to communicate in a clear, concise, and grammatically correct manner.
5. Must have experience with office functions such as preparing and managing reports.

Highly Preferred:
1. Possession of a Lifeguard Instructor certification.
