This position is located at: Fort Campbell, KY Outdoor Recreation.

This is a Flexible position (0-40 hours) with no eligibility to participate in the NAF Employee Benefits Plans

Clarification from the agency

U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. or U.S. Territory for three (3) or more continuous years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation.

Duties

  • Instructs groups and individuals in a variety of outdoor recreation programs, such as but not limited to rafting, rock climbing, kayaking, hiking, mountain biking, challenge course.
  • Teaches children as well as adults.
  • Incumbent is responsible for group management. The safety of the participants must always be the number one priority.
  • Must be familiar with all programs offered by Outdoor Recreation, as well as be familiar with local area as the position requires providing information to customers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Conditions of Employment

  • Successful completion of a pre-employment physical is required for this position. (Ability to lift 40 pounds)
  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Must be able to work during the hours of operation to include nights and weekends.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all required background checks of AR 215-3, must be successfully completed and maintained to include the initiation/completion of Child and Youth National Agency Check with Inquiries (CNACI).
  • Must have or be able to obtain a current American Red Cross First Aid and CPR/AED training certification.
  • If water rafting is part of the duties, satisfactory completion of required Raft Guide Training must be completed within three weeks of appointment. Failure to successfully completed required training may result in separation.

Qualifications

Qualification Requirements are:

  • Must have knowledge of and experience in a wide variety of Outdoor Recreation pursuits.

Applicants meeting the following will be considered Highly Preferred:

  • Pursuing a degree in Recreation Management, Outdoor Recreation, or a related field, and in the process of completing an internship or fieldwork program.
