The include a fitness center, group exercise classes, an Olympic-sized pool, kiddie pool and splash pad, teen center, clay tennis courts, pickleball, and a gym to play basketball and volleyball. This position is under the Department which focuses on providing a vast array of programs and activities throughout Manatee County, while continually promoting our mission of health for the community and environment.
As a Recreation Coordinator III – Fitness you will assist patrons with information on how to safely use and operate weight machines, including modifications and alternative ways to exercise. You will also complete assessments and personal training to various clientele. Additionally, you will instruct group fitness classes at G.T. Bray and assist in scheduling and coverage of group fitness class schedules. You will interact with patrons on the fitness floor and maintain cleanliness and order of the fitness center. Lastly, you will take a lead in developing programs that reach select populations to help improve their fitness and overall wellbeing.

Required Skills
- High school graduate or equivalent
- 5 or more years of work experience in recreation, to include customer service experience.
- Community CPR and First Aid certifications required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
- Personal training certification required.
- Level 2 Background check required within 30 days of hire.
Desired Skills
- Associate degree in recreation, education, physiology, business, public administration, or related field
- Prior experience in a lead capacity
