The City of Surprise Adaptive Recreation program is searching for highly motivated individuals to be a part of a dedicated team looking to engage and create an impact on individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities in our community.
SUMMARY
Recreation Leaders III are functional supervisors who plan and lead activities in adaptive programs such as sports and classes, and assign and oversee Recreation Leader I duties. Recreation Leaders III are site and activity supervisors, ensuring all patrons and staff are safe, and the activities conducted are age and level appropriate. Incumbents address all issues on site, such as discipline, schedule problems, account issues, etc., and act as the lead customer service member to the public. Recreation Leaders III report to a Recreation Coordinator or Recreation Supervisor, and communication between the two will be constant and fluid.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate’s degree and two years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. Additional education cannot be substituted for experience
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must have at time of hire and be able to maintain a valid Arizona Driver License. Must provide proof of CPR Certification Card and First Aid Certification Card within 90 days after hire date.
