Job Description Summary
[Provide general admin/office support.]In support of the Student Affairs Learning Outcomes, the Wellness and Recreation team manages multiple fitness and recreation facilities and coordinates a variety of on- and off-campus recreation and wellness education programming. Alongside professional staff and in collaboration with other team members, the Recreation Programming Assistant is responsible for coordinating on and off-campus recreation events to promote student community building and well-being. All Recreation Programming Assistants are members of the Department of Student Engagement and the Division of Student Affairs.

- Work alongside other program staff to plan and staff NIRSA Rec Day, sports tournaments, Monthly Fitness Challenge, and GroupX events
- Work alongside other program staff to plan and staff off-campus outdoor trips including hikes, water sports, snow sports and other recreational activities
- Provide excellent customer service to guests of facilities
- Provide excellent customer service to participants at events and trips
- Contribute to marketing efforts by representing Wellness and Recreation Services at tabling events, completing marketing requests, hanging posters, etc.
- Collaborate within Recreation programing team to fill the gaps with daily tasks and programing.
- Work alongside Lead(s) to develop innovative ways to attract more guests/participants
- Meet weekly with Recreation Programming team
- Assist in Student Engagement department-wide events
- Meet monthly with Wellness and Recreation area employees
- Assist in other duties as assigned

Required
- CPR/First Aid/AED Certified through the end of the academic year. If an applicant is not already certified, certification will be coordinated by the Department of Student Engagement upon employment.
