Clarification from the agency

U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. or U.S. Territory for three (3) or more continuous years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation.

Duties

  • Organizes, plans, and evaluate community programs that reflect community interests.
  • Works in executing community-wide recreation events, programs and services to meet the diversified needs of the community
  • Develops and plans publicity using installation media.
  • Assures that proper security measures are taken to safeguard monies, property, equipment and facility. Assists with other recreation programs in the Recreation Center as needed.
  • Serves as a Recreation Specialist within the Recreation Program Team involved with planning, organizing, and conducting facility recreation programs for the community.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

1. Experience OR a combination of experience and education that provided the knowledge of the goals, principles, methods, and techniques of recreation programs and an understanding of the interests of individuals or groups.

2. Completion of the requirements for a bachelor’s degree with major study in outdoor recreation and parks, recreation management, youth, public, urban or community recreation; or special population recreation is qualifying experience.

Highly Preferred Criteria:

1. Experience working with NAF MWR programs and activities, financial management, long range calendars, preparing marketing plans, and coordinating with partnering programs such as SHARP/EEO/EO/ASAP/AFAP.

2. Experience preparing program briefs, situation reports, and other presentations.

3. Experience with REC TRAC point of sale (POS), and experience with reports such as Daily Activity Reports (DAR’s), and usage/participation reporting.
