Assistant Director of Fundraising

Job Brief: The Assistant Director of Fundraising is responsible for QSAC’s philanthropic revenue streams, which allow us to achieve our mission and maximize our impact in the community. The position plans and organizes fundraising activities by actively working to diversify and grow our funding streams across special events, individual giving, and grants. Salary Range: $85K – $100K annually, commensurate with fundraising experience with opportunity for advancement.

Design Fundraising Strategies

  • Help our donors accomplish their philanthropic goals and ambitions through a relationship with our organization
  • Develop and execute the annual fundraising plan with the goal of raising $1.5M – $2M annually
  • Generate new ideas that increase revenue and donor loyalty
  • Report on program progress to senior management and the board
  • Oversee the development budget and monitor expenses

Organize Fundraising Activities and Events

  • Maintain long-term relationships with existing donors
  • Identify and build relationships with new and prospective donors
  • Lead planning for special events and work toward achieving/surpassing fundraising goals.
  • Special events typically include a combination of an annual gala, 5K walk/run, bowl-a-thon, golf outing, and other events
  • Collaborate with senior management on the development of strategic fundraising campaigns
  • Manage systems and software to track and cultivate donors and prospects, including our donor database and wealth screening tools
  • Administer signature fundraising and donor stewardship events
  • Make direct, face-to-face solicitations
  • Ensure proper reporting of grant outcomes in accordance with grant agreements
  • Provide regular feedback and support for other members of the fundraising team
  • Ensure that QSAC’s Development Database Policies and Procedures Manual is adhered to
  • Communicate fundraising goals throughout the organization and empower staff, board members, families, and existing donors to be effective advocates for the organization

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years of experience and demonstrated success in nonprofit development or a closely related profession.
  • Dream of helping a high-impact nonprofit grow its philanthropic budget to further its mission and the ability to actualize your aspirations.
  • An enthusiastic leader capable of managing diverse groups to reach a common goal.
  • Readily initiate and complete projects.
  • Make timely, effective, and ethical decisions.
  • Embody the entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Self-starter who crafts creative solutions and opens doors to new donor relationships.
  • Actively and constantly listen to all constituents, focus especially on donor needs, and know how to identify mutual benefits.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to compel audiences through writing and speaking.
