As a Regional Security Manager you will have the opportunity to manage day to day operations and maintain high quality Security/Emergency preparedness programs and initiatives that support healthcare policies, staff communications, and comprehensive training for staff, patients, volunteers, and donors for PPPSW.
This exciting opportunity will also support the development of strategic plans and program documents such as plans, policies, procedures, drawing upon technical insight and understanding in related technical disciplines to support Agency’s business and overall goals. In addition, this position will provide 24-hour response system for security emergencies and addresses any concerns with police departments regarding the safety of PPPSW facilities or events

In this role, you’ll get to:
- Manage the coordination of security response(s) appropriate for various security related situations.
- Communicate with and oversee day to day schedule of “rover guards,” make changes to schedule as necessary.
- Review schedules for security posts and make changes, as necessary.
- Provide a security presence at all Agency events and oversee contract security personnel as needed.
- Manage parking enforcement measures and policies for various PPPSW locations, as needed.
- Train and manage the new staff in New Hire Orientation for security/emergency related issues.
- Train all call center staff and other applicable staff on policies and procedures with individual one-on-one trainings.
- Organize, coordinate, and conduct training topics for safety and any response type.
- Assist the Director of Emergency Management and Security in providing trainings to various groups outside PPPSW.
- Conducts risk assessments on key staff, board members, or donors for personal, home, and social media safety.
- Write and produce educational materials which include, but not limited to, the Security Manual.
- Coordinate with the Volunteer Manager in maintaining an escort program to assist patients entering and exiting our health centers.
- Responsible for all training and implementation of the Employee Notification System for security/emergency related issues.
- Manage all aspects of emergency preparedness contracts, with the County of San Diego, Riverside, and Imperial Counties, State of California and others.
- Serves as a representative on behalf of PPPSW for criminal prosecutions in a court of law, as necessary.
- Reviews high-level staff or at-risk staff confidentiality measures and recommends and manages software tools to protect their privacy.
- Handle departmental budgeting, billing, and invoicing with the Director of Emergency Management and Security.
- Reviews and applies with the Grant Manager on applicable funding sources and/or grants available to the agency to support funding security initiatives.
- Acts as liaison to community organizations, local and state government as well as other healthcare entities in areas of disaster preparedness.
What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (4 Years) in public safety, security and/or emergency management or a similar field.
- 2+ years of program management experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of principles and practices of security/emergency management, including security preventative practices and the four phases of emergency management.
- Must be familiar with execution of security systems (i.e. camera, access and control).
- Capability to independently solve a variety of difficult situations and problems in the absence of the Director of Emergency Management and Security.
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends and 24-hour response for security emergencies.
- Must be willing to travel to all Agency sites throughout San Diego, Riverside, and Imperial Counties with no advance notice.
$86,609 – $90,940 a year
