Education and Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Qualifications:

  • RBT Certified with the BACB or the ability to become RBT certified within 60 days of hire.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities
  • Maintain yearly RBT re-certification and abide by the RBT Ethics Code.

Schedule and Compensation

  • Monday Friday, 8:30 am – 4 pm
  • Hourly Compensation Range: $17/hour – $21/hour

About The Position:

Under the direction of the Associate Director of Behavior Services, the RBT in Helping Hand’s Adult Services will engage, instruct, and support clients through implementing skill acquisition plans, collecting data on their progress, and proving support with behavior management.

Specific Job Description:

  • Work with adults in the day program or CILA setting, one on one or in groups depending on the needs of the client
  • Implement behavior and teaching strategies as outlined in the client’s behavior plan as assigned by the BCBA.
  • Participate as a member of the individual’s interdisciplinary team and attend all team meetings and training as required.
  • Collect data regarding clients’ behaviors through direct observation and communicate data professionally and efficiently to the IDT.
  • Assist BCBAs as directed with behavior reduction assessments and behavioral plans.
  • Communicate behavioral intervention results with the IDT in both verbal and written form.
  • Assist with providing formal and informal training to DSP and other support staff regarding ABA strategies as needed.
  • Complete corresponding paperwork for behavioral interventions in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Ensure that clients are in a safe and positive environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required.
  • Report to the supervising BCBA in accordance with stated policies and procedures

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides for the safety and security of individuals along with Helping Hand property.
  • Follow Helping Hand procedures when dealing with an emergency, including calling 911, ensuring the safety of the individuals, and notifying the supervisor.
  • Ensuring safety including conducting emergency drills and other documentation
  • Actively participate as a member of the adult program behavioral services team
  • Attend pertinent meetings
  • Completes paperwork and documentation as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
