Regulatory Compliance Assurance Program Design Engineer, Global Compliance

This role will be a key part of the global regulatory compliance assurance team with a focus on providing Compliance Assurance Program and GRC platform support and administration including provision of user-targeted compliance risk reporting for regulatory and business partners, implementing tailored solutions for compliance risk assessments and streamlined control frameworks and identifying and working with cross-functional teams to implement effective continuous monitoring programs.

The individual will be dynamic, business and solutions oriented and have experience in understanding and designing end-2-end business processes and controls design. A continuous improvement mindset with the ability to understand regulatory requirements and overlay regulatory controls effectively into business processes, they will be able to effectively manage and support system administration and reporting for compliance assurance and manage this across regional and local compliance as well as collaboratively interface with other areas in the business.

Responsibilities

The role will report to the Program and Transformation Manager, Global Compliance and will cover:

  • End to end administration of the Global Regulatory Compliance Assurance Program, including transition from current GRC platform to new GRC platform for compliance, administration of compliance management information, tracking, reporting, identification of trends, preparation of Group level tools to roll out to RCOs and assurance teams;
  • Work with legal and regulatory compliance to develop regulatory risk-based control frameworks that can be used across different lines of business, distribution channels and geographies to efficiently and effectively identify, assess and manage regulatory compliance risk;
  • Undertake activities as part of the regulatory compliance assurance program to ensure successful transfer of the risk-based control design to the business activities and continuously evaluate and enhance processes and systems to optimize efficiency and effectiveness on a risk-based approach;
  • Undertake collection and analysis of relevant compliance management information data including assisting in the development of a dataset of key performance indicators for the purposes of continuous monitoring of regulatory compliance key controls
  • Identify and work with relevant cross-functional teams to design and implement technology-based controls to move from current manually intensive point in time controls to automated continuous management of regulatory compliance risk.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in process improvement and control design, automation and system administration
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills and an ability to understand insurance regulations and coordinate and achieve outcomes working with cross-functional teams
  • Technology experience and ability to work closely with technology teams to design and implement technology based regulatory compliance control solutions
  • Understanding of financial services, with preference for insurance and regulatory knowledge and experience and well-developed communication skills
  • Strong working knowledge of technology, along with new system implementation and analytics capability
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Visio, Powerpoint and other reporting, presentation and analytics tools

The pay range for the role is $102,000 to $168,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and other factors. This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program.
