Summary:
Reporting to the Regulatory Compliance Manager, the Compliance Specialist is responsible for federal and state alcoholic beverage regulatory compliance, including but not limited to licensing, product registrations, state reporting and excise tax payments.
Key Responsibilities include (Specific duties to be based on experience):
Review new labels and label revisions and provide compliance feedback to business partners.
Submit labels to TTB for COLA consideration.
Submit formulas to TTB for approval.
Maintain COLA submissions and approvals on the public drive.
Oversee direct to consumer compliance in the ShipCompliant system, monitoring for accurate data inputs and outputs. Ensure all excise tax filings are submitted on time by our third party.
Work with the Tax Team to maintain online account logins with each jurisdiction and authority.
File any reports or amendments which our third party cannot file.
Receive and resolve notices from excise tax authorities and state alcohol beverage authorities.
Manage the special application process requirements for wine treatments and variances from federal and state regulations. Submit COLA Use-Up Requests and COLA Waiver Requests. Assist with import clearances from US Customs.
Analyze and approve marketing promotional material and advertising, consumer coupon and sweepstakes and contests, and traditional marketing (i.e. print, television and radio). Support the business with legal clearance and state approvals.
Apply for and maintain NABCA codes for all domestic and imported products, which are required for some markets and used for statistical information gathering.
Maintain distributor database of current distributors and brand assignments.
Conduct annual reporting for the business entities with required states.
Conduct company officer reporting with federal and state entities.
File and renew Fictitious Business Name (FBN) statements with county and TTB.
File and renew FDA registrations for our wine bottling sites globally.
Support the business with general import and export queries.
Collaborate with TBS on standardizing export documents across the global business.
Support the business with Certificate of Insurance requests.
About you
You have a BA degree or comparable job experience
You have administrative experience in a compliance setting; Certified Notary Public (or ability to obtain) preferred
You have a understanding of federal and state alcoholic beverage regulations, or the ability to get up to speed quickly
You have the ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment with respect to legal compliance matters
You have strong ability to manage deadlines
You have excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task
You are detail oriented
You can communicate clearly and concisely in both written and oral form
You maintain a positive work environment, contribute to group morale and reflect TWE growth behaviours
You are proficient in use of Microsoft Office and SharePoint

Pay Transparency Disclosure: The base pay range offered for this position is $65,000 to $78,000 annually. These figures represent what we reasonably expect to pay for this position, but the actual compensation offered will depend upon numerous job-related factors, including but not limited to candidate qualifications, skills, experience, education, location, and alignment with market data. Our expectation is that the incumbent will work out of the Napa CA area. If the incumbent works out of another location, the wage rate may fall above or below this range. Treasury reserves the right to modify the range in the future.
