We ensure that Missourians receive safe and reliable utility services at just, reasonable and affordable rates. The Adjudication department has a staff of full-time regulatory law judges that are utilized to meet the procedural demands of the large volume of contested cases and other administrative proceedings filed with the Commission.
What you’ll do:
- Preside over adversarial hearings which may last from 1 to 15 consecutive days on the record.
- Independently control a docket of cases from the Telecommunications, Electric, Gas, Water, Sewer, and Steam industries.
- Review extensive pleadings, written expert testimony, briefs, and other case-related documents in the preparation of final Commission orders.
- Work effectively within a panel of six judges and for a five-member Commission.
- Provide sound legal analysis and well-drafted documents under demanding deadlines.
- Position may require some in-state travel.
All you need for success:
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be a member of the Missouri Bar.
- 5 years of experience in administrative law, regulatory law, or government practice.
- Excellent reason and writing skills.
