Reporting to the Manager, Regulatory Operations, the Regulatory Product Chemist will be responsible for supporting the Regulatory Affairs team (Crop Protection, Adjuvants, Fertilizers and Biostimulants) by providing technical expertise related to product chemistry and by facilitating the delivery of technical regulatory documentation required for the development and registration of Nutrien’s proprietary portfolio.

What you will do:

  • Support the regulatory team by delivering technical documentation for discrete sub-projects, such as preparation of strategy documents, regulatory manufacturing process, Confidential Statement of Formula (CSF), specifications, data gathering for submissions, and preparation of certifications (Certificate of analysis, certificate of composition, etc.), to ensure timely delivery of outputs and flexibility of resources.
  • Scope and deliver specific Regulatory notifications, such as notifications of changes of manufacturing sources, name changes, and address changes, working closely with the Supply Chain to ensure compliance during transition phases.
  • Gather, review and approve technical regulatory information (e.g. phys-chem studies, 6-pack studies, 5-batch, etc.) and make it available to the Regulatory Department.
  • Prepare standardized assessments, data summaries, data sheets, dossiers, and other documentation required by the regulatory team, ensuring that they are accurate, complete, and consistent with company standards.
  • Develop and be an expert user of regulatory knowledge management systems with respect to data entry, data searching, and publishing reports.
  • Work closely with supply chain, production, R&D and quality control to ensure accuracy of the technical regulatory documentation and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead and perform work the Nutrien Way – engaging in corporate, policies, programs and practices, including SH&E regulations and standards, to bring our Culture of Care to life
  • Perform other related duties, as required

What you will bring:

  • Degree in Science (e.g. biological sciences, agronomy, or chemistry) and preferably a post-graduate qualification (MSc or PhD).
  • Minimum 5 years of working experience in Product Registration or relevant product development or regulatory chemistry areas, with a focus on Crop Protection products.
  • Strong knowledge of global Crop Protection registration requirements and regulatory chemistry issues.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and compliance.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to learn, teach and share information with teammates, peers, and management.

Please note that if the selected candidate for this opportunity is within a commutable distance to a Corporate office, they would be required to work three days a week from that office location.

Salary range for this role is $77,600 to $129,960 per year. This range is estimated for Regulatory Product Chemist in Loveland, CO. Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location.

In addition to base pay, this role is also eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan and long-term incentive plan, consistent with the terms of our program(s) where discretionary pay out of awards is reflecting components such as performance of the company and the employee.
