Overview:
The Business Development Specialist (BDS) is part of a newly formed business development and talent solutions team that will launch a new business unitfocused on building innovative enterprise solutions partnerships in thefast-growing market of information technology training and workforce development. The BDS dramaticallyexpands the impact and growth of DeVry University’s (DVU) network of enterprisepartnerships to support the university’s vision and support the growth of anew, innovative service focusing on dramatically closing the gap in informationtechnology talent in America. This position will develop and grow enterprisesolution partner networks, driving DVU’s technology enterprise solutions by identifying and cultivatingdeep enterprise relationships, and executing a shared engagement strategy toeffectively benefit both the university and its partners. This role demandsambitious business development and selling skills to identify key opportunities,systematically engage enterprise solutions partners, and follow through on thedevelopment of unique solutions opportunities. The specialist should beentrepreneurial and prepared to be part of an entrepreneurial team able tocollaborate across the university and with the marketplace. The specialist mustbe results driven and focused on creating solutions while driving outcomes. This role reports to the VP of Enterprise Talent Solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Identifies, networks, and qualifies enterprise partner contacts to elevate the brand and increase consideration through presentations, virtual events, and marketing efforts
- Sets goals and develops plans for business and revenue growth
- Researches, plans, and implements new target market initiatives
- Generate pursues leads and schedules discovery meetings
- Conducts solution-based virtual presentations that motivate prospective enterprise partner to deepen engagement
- Establishes trusted relationships, sustaining the relationships through the full sales cycle
- Stays current with trends and initiatives within the assigned verticals and educational industry, gathers and communicates strategic information and recommends marketing changes or modifications, as appropriate
- Maintains full knowledge of DeVry’ s program portfolio so as to be able to fully explain all offerings
- Knows the student journey to be able to explain the vision, policies and process to Corporate Partners.
- Complies with Salesforce processes necessary to track performance and monitor trends.
- Ensure prospective enterprise partner feedback is clearly captured and conveyed internally to drive improvement
- Completes other duties as assigned.
- This role does not have student recruitment responsibilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, sales/marketing or an equivalent combination of education and experience required
- 2+ years of enterprise B2B sales in Talent Acquisition, Saas, or similar industry
- Highly motivated, self-driven, result-oriented, strategic, and strong bias for actions
- Demonstrates professional presence by effectively engaging participants and during meetings and/or presentations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Delivers informative and well-prepared presentations
- Embraces ambiguity by maintaining effectiveness when experiencing major changes in work responsibilities or environment; adjusting effectively to work within new work structures, processes, requirements or cultures
- Proficient knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
